Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

  • You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably forseeable loss or damage.
  • You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Warranty Exclusions –

Misuse – There are different roof rack and canopy designs suitable for a range of purposes. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure they are transparent about their requirements and that they use our products for the purpose for which they were designed.

Abuse – If the product is not used according to the manufacturer’s instructions, such as but not limited to –

  • Not distributing the weight evenly on a roof rack
  • Failure to secure the load correctly including proper fitment of a roof top tent, awning or any other fixture added to our roof rack
  • Carrying more than the recommended load rating
  • Failure to drive to road conditions with roof rack loaded
  • Not securing canopy cover when driving

Modifications – Any alterations or modifications to our products not authorised by the manufacturer can void the warranty.

Normal wear and tear – this is the gradual deterioration of a product due to regular use, such as, but not limited to –

  • Scratches on the surface of a roof rack or canopy cover
  • Fading of canopy cover due to sun exposure or discoloration due to red dirt or chemicals

Accidental damage – damage caused by accidents such as, but not limited to –

  • Poor loading with a forklift
  • Reversing into something causing a collision with the roof rack or canopy
  • Failure to follow care instructions, such as –
  • Not following manufacturer’s instructions for use, installation or maintenance such as failing to check fixtures regularly eg. Bolts and nuts tightened

Failure to report within reasonable time – If a product has a minor fault that can be repaired, the consumer must discontinue use of the product and inform the manufacturer as soon as possible to avoid further damage. Further damage due to continued use of a product with a fault may not be covered by the warranty.

Purchase of second hand items – the warranty is valid for the original purchaser of the product.

Warranty

Our roof racks, cage canopies and canopy frames have a 5 year warranty from fitting date covering any defects that are not caused by Exclusions listed above.

Products not manufactured by Great Racks but supplied and fitted are subject to the warranty designated by the manufacturer of the product.

In the event that a product needs to be repaired or replaced it must be returned to the manufacturer by the consumer.
